The Danish Chess Federation was founded in 1903. From the first years with only a few clubs in Jutland the Danish Chess Federation has grown to be a countrywide organisation for approximately 250 clubs today.

The goals and purpose of the Danish Chess Federation is to expand the knowledge to chess in the Danish population and to improve the playing strength of the members. Furthermore the Danish Chess Federation aims at creating a common understanding and a friendly atmosphere among chess players in Denmark.
