TOP GAMES LIVE ON INTERNET

 

Children from fifty-five countries from round the world are arriving at Disneyland Paris today to take part in the fifth World Rapid Chess Championships for Kids. Every continent is represented with children coming from as far as Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, China, Canada, Iceland, Namibia, Japan and Turkmenistan. Each country is sending their champions in four categories - Boys 10-12, Boys 13-14, Girls 10-12 and Girls 13-14 - to compete over three days and nine rounds of rapid chess (25 mins). With many of the strong chess playing nations in attendance too, the Disney event has once again established itself as the world premier chess event for children.

 

Reigning World Champion, Anatoly Karpov has also flown in for the event. He will open it at a special ceremony this evening and will stay for the duration of the event. Together with English GM, Danny King, he will also be providing Grandmaster analysis on the internet on www.disney.co.uk of some of the tops games at 12:45 and 17:00 CET tomorrow as well as 12:45 on Monday and Tuesday. All top games will be shown live on the internet throughout the event.

 

If you can not follow it live, we will be also providing you with daily results and a selection of the best games from the top tables of each category by fax and e-mail. The tournament lasts from 15 - 17 November with four games played tomorrow and three more played on both Monday and Tuesday. Tomorrow’s first game starts at 9:30 am CET.
